Gippsland Art Gallery Acquisition

Blind Spot, 2014.

Hello wonderful souls!

It is with great excitement that I can share my return to my arts practice after some much-needed time away on maternity leave. During this time, we have raised two beautiful children, completed two house renovations and built my own studio in Camberwell, Victoria. It has been a huge journey and I look forward to sharing a little more of it with you soon.

I am thrilled to announce that my largest installation work Blindspot has been acquired by Gippsland Art Gallery for their permanent collection.

Blindspot will premier in the Turner and Australia exhibition opening 7th June and runs till 24th August 2025.

Curator Simon Gregg’s catalyst for the exhibition was to highlight JMW Turner as the first artist investigating the impact of the British industrial revolution on the landscape highlighting the visible beginnings of climate change. The more Turner depicted industrialisation, the more the landscape dissolved and disappeared in his work. I am excited to be selected as one of Turner’s contemporaries working in the field today.

The exhibition will mark a major shift for Gippsland Art Gallery as it becomes the first in Australia to focus on collecting work that interrogates Climate Change.

This landmark change reflects how many artists are making visible environmental challenges that we collectively face in our humanity and the ongoing need to support this work. It reminds us how art can become a catalyst for social change.

Turner and Australia launches Winter 2025.

I would like to give my deepest thanks the people and institutions that have supported the making and exhibition of Blindspot -

And the countless friends, helpers and family who helped me put together and pack down this work many times in many places - you are all legends I love and am grateful for. Your care has helped carry me bringing this work into being. It is a pleasure to now be able to share Blindspot with our communities and policy makers.

Blindspot will go on permanent display at Gippsland Art Gallery later this year after the Turner and Australia exhibition closes.
